ABOUT CADILLAC
Cadillac is a luxury vehicle marque owned by General Motors Company. Cadillac vehicles are sold in over 50 countries and territories, but mainly in North America.

Founded in 1902 as the Cadillac Automobile Company, it was purchased in 1909 by General Motors and over the next thirty years established itself as America's premier luxury car. Cadillac pioneered many accessories in automobiles, including full electrical systems, the clashless manual transmission, and the steel roof. The brand developed three engines, one of which (the V8) set the standard for the American automotive industry.

CADILLAC HISTORY
Cadillac has always stood for quality, superior craftsmanship, and innovation in the auto community. They have always been a leader in automotive innovation, including the electric starter, V8 engines, V16 engines, automatic transmissions, shatter resistant glass, and tail fins. Cadillac was the only American auto manufacturer during the great depression that made a profit.

Cadillac - the early years
Cadillac was actually a spin off of the Henry Ford Company, his second failed try at an auto business. In 1902 an engineer named Henry Leland was brought in by Ford's financial backers to access the value of the inventory, and Leland persuaded the financial backers to continue the business rather than liquidate it. In August 1902, the Cadillac Automobile Company was created, and Leland introduced the first Cadillac at the 1903 New York Auto Show, where it was a big hit. In that week, he sold over 2200 cars for $850 each, and Cadillac produced nearly 2500 cars in 1903, which was truly remarkable in that short time frame of when the company was founded. Leland used the body that Ford had designed when he was with the company, and combined it with an Oldsmobile engine. Ford started another company in 1903 that was finally successful, and he used his body that he built earlier, with his own engine. So the first Cadillac and first Ford models looked exactly alike. Only the engine was the main difference.

Cadillac started upscaling it's automobiles by 1905 by adding a four cylinder model, and in 1907 Cadillac started using Johanssen gauges to create precise measurements. This helped them win the Thomas Dewar Trophy in 1908, which was awarded to an auto manufacturer for leading the automobile industry in advancements. Interchangeable parts were what helped Cadillac earn this award. What was remarkable for this time is when three different Cadillac's were taken apart piece by piece, and the pieces all mixed together, then the three cars were rebuilt. All three cars drove away perfectly. Before this, cars were generally built one by one, and each car had their unique nuances, and many parts had to be tweaked or modified to work in each model. With precise engineering and measurements on parts, the parts could interchange on cars of that model with no problems.

GM was very interested in Cadillac, and in 1908 Durant, founder of GM, offered Leland 3 million dollars for Cadillac. GM lacked a high end model line, and GM wanted a product line for every type of car owner, from the basic to the high end, so they could sell a car to anyone. Leland held out for 3.5 million, and after having successful sales in 1909, Leland upped the price to 4.5 million. Durant accepted the offer, and paid in cash from profits he made from Buick (Durant also bought Olds Motor Works in 1908 with cash he earned from Buick). Durant kept Leland running Cadillac until 1917. Leland eventually created Lincoln Motor Works, which eventually became Cadillac’s biggest competitor.

ABOUT BUICK
Buick is a marque of automobile sold in the United States, Canada, Mexico, China, Taiwan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Israel by General Motors Company. It is GM's North America-based entry-level luxury brand.

BUICK HISTORY
Buick originated as an independent motor car manufacturer, the Buick Motor Company, incorporated on May 19, 1903, by David Dunbar Buick in Detroit, Michigan. Later that year, the struggling company was taken over by James H. Whiting (1842-1919), who moved it to his hometown of Flint, Michigan, and brought in William C. Durant in 1904 to manage his new acquisition. Buick sold his stock for a small sum upon departure, and died in modest circumstances twenty-five years later.

Between 1899 and 1902 two prototype vehicles were built in Detroit, Michigan by Walter Lorenzo Marr. Some documentation exists of the 1901 or 1902 prototype with tiller steering similar to the Oldsmobile Curved Dash.

In mid-1904 another prototype was constructed for an endurance run, which convinced James H. Whiting to authorize production of the first models offered to the public. The architecture of this prototype was the basis for the Model B.

The first Buick made for sale, the 1904 Model B, was built in Flint, Michigan. There were 37 Buicks made that year, none of which survive. There are, however, two replicas in existence — the 1904 endurance car at the Buick Gallery & Research Center in Flint, and a Model B assembled by an enthusiast in California for the division's 100th anniversary. Both of these vehicles use various parts from Buicks of that early era, as well as fabricated parts. These vehicles were each constructed with the two known surviving 1904 engines.

The power train and chassis architecture introduced on the Model B was continued through the 1909 Model F. The early success of Buick is attributed in part to the valve-in-head engine patented by Eugene Richard. The creation of General Motors is attributed in part to the success of Buick, so it can be said Marr and Richard's designs directly led to GM.

The basic design of the 1904 Buick was optimally engineered even by today's standards. The flat-twin engine is inherently balanced, with torque presented to the chassis in a longitudinal manner, actually cancelling front end lift, rather than producing undesirable lateral motion. The engine was mounted amidships, now considered the optimal location.

Durant was a natural promoter, and Buick soon became the largest car maker in America. Using the profits from this, Durant embarked on a series of corporate acquisitions, calling the new mega-corporation General Motors. At first, the manufacturers comprising General Motors competed against each other, but Durant ended that. He wanted each General Motors division to target one class of buyer, and in his new scheme Buick was near the top — only the Cadillac brand had more prestige. This is the position Buick occupies to this day in the General Motors lineup.

At first, Buick followed the likes of Napier in automobile racing, winning the first-ever race held at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

In 1911, Buick introduced its first closed-body car, four years ahead of Ford.[16] In 1929, Buick Motor Division launched the Marquette sister brand, designed to bridge the price gap between Buick and Oldsmobile; however, Marquette was discontinued in 1930.

The model name Century came about when Buick was designing its first production automobile capable of reaching a speed of 100mph. The division needed to come up with a name. One of the Buick executives had returned from a recent trip to the British isles and told the other executives that the British referred to going 100mph as "doing the century". The executives liked the Century name and it stuck.

Overall sales of the Buick brand peaked in the 1984 model year, when falling oil prices and the prevailing economic recovery buoyed the sales of traditional full-sized automobiles, in combination with the popularity of newer, smaller offerings and performance oriented turbocharged models. Subsequently, sales fell as downsized premium luxury coupe, full-sized and mid-sized models were poorly received by the public in the period between 1985 and 1990. The number of Buick models on offer fell over time, with the compact and performance segments being abandoned altogether.

The ideal Buick customer is comfortably well off, possibly not quite rich enough to afford a Cadillac, nor desiring the ostentation of one, but definitely in the market for a car above the norm. Over time Buick has become a traditional luxury brand in the GM group whereas Cadillac has focused more on cutting edge products.

Buick began consolidating its lineup in 2005, replacing the Century and Regal with the LaCrosse (known as the Buick Allure in Canada), and the LeSabre and Park Avenue with the Lucerne in 2006. Both of its SUVs, the Rendezvous and Rainier were discontinued in 2007 to make way for the new and highly successful 2008 Enclave, while the slow-selling Terraza minivan was also dropped for 2008. This left the marque with just three models in the United States. In 2008, Buick sales slipped from an average of four cars per dealer per month to three, in addition to two trucks.

Speculation existed, however, as to whether GM would eliminate the Buick brand to cut costs. This followed the temporary suspension of GM's planned Zeta project to develop new rear wheel drive cars fitting the Buick market niche. GM also has started consolidating of Buick, Pontiac, and GMC trucks into single dealer franchises, which would make it simple to eliminate the Buick brand without leaving dealers devoid of product. However, with the development of the Zeta platform still ongoing (including the development of the 2006 VE Commodore and the new Chevrolet Camaro), it may be likely that Buick will survive. In January 2009, Buick unveiled the new 2010 LaCrosse sedan, a radical departure from the model it will replace in mid-2009 and from Buicks of the recent past. So far, the car has drawn praise from critics and auto journalists and adds another bright spot to Buick's stable. There have been rumors on Edmund's and Motor Trend that Buick will have a roadster sedan in 2010.

In the 2009 J.D. Power and Associates Vehicle Dependability Study, Buick tied with Jaguar as the most dependable brand in the United States.

At its extended product review in August 2009, GM announced Buick's future lineup. A small Pontiac Vibe sized crossover based on the Gamma II platform will be produced. Another, larger, compact crossover will start production in 2011, and a hybrid version will utilize the 2-mode hybrid system that was planned to be used in the cancelled Saturn VUE hybrid. The Regal will return in 2011 along with a new compact sedan that will be assembled in China.

ABOUT BUGATTI

Bugatti was founded in Molsheim, France, as a manufacturer of high performance automobiles by Ettore Bugatti, an Italian man described as an eccentric genius who was in conjunction with Italian sports car manufacturers, Ferrari and Lamborghini.

The original company is legendary for producing some of the most exclusive cars in the world as well as some of the fastest. The original Bugatti brand failed with the coming of World War II, like many high-end marques of the time. The death of Ettore's son Jean was also a contributory factor. The company struggled financially and released one last model in the 1950s before eventually being purchased for its airplane parts business in the 1960s. Today the name is owned by Volkswagen Group who have revived it as a builder of very limited production sports cars.

2008 Scuderia Bizzarrini Livorno P538 Barchetta

Scuderia Bizzarrini Livorno P538 Barchetta

This stunning design from Stefan Schulze is what he calls Scuderia Bizzarrini Livorno p538 Barchetta. Schulze working in conjunction with Alan Mertens, who is a race-car engineer, along with Giotto Bizzarrini and Kevin Gallahan of Arbitrage Cars. The Arbitrage Cars are manufacturing a small series production for both the Barchetta and GT (hardtop) version. This version is based on their Arbitrage GT chassis. This design was approved by Giotto Bizzarrini

Bizzarrini for long has been associated with exclusive performance cars, and with their name being used in this 2008 concept, it adds a sense of history to the vehicle. While the ‘Livorno’ is taken from the Italian city in which Bizzarrini is residing currently. P538 in the car name is picked to pay homage to a limited race car which was built by Bizzarinni built in 1960’s.

It’s the lattice framework in which the engine is placed. This is directly behind the driver thus 8 race-like intake trumpets highlight the location of this powerful engine. This pokes through the engine cover just behind the cockpit. The manufacturers are planning a small series production for both the Barchetta and GT (Hardtop) version.

ABOUT BENTLEY
Bentley Motors was founded by W.O. Bentley in 1919 when the first Bentley engine burst into life at New Street Mews, London. From these modest beginnings, W.O’s company went from strength to strength through the 1920s, with an evolving series of acclaimed motor cars and a parade of racing triumphs to prove their outstanding performance. These laurels were capped with five outright victories at Le Mans between 1924 - 1930 and a sixth in 2003.

If we had mission statements in those days, it could not have been expressed more eloquently than in the words of W.O. himself, “To build a good car, a fast car, the best in class”.

These words are just as relevant today as they continue to inform our beliefs, actions and ambitions for the future. Located in Crewe, England since 1946 and owned since 1998 by Volkswagen AG, Bentley Motors is dedicated to making responsive and powerful Grand Tourers with the stamina to cross continents at pace, and drive in refined comfort and style.

BENTLEY HISTORY
The history of Bentley reads like a thriller. From the moment W.O. Bentley’s 3-litre engine burst into rumbustious life in 1919 to the roars that greeted the Le Mans triumphs of 2003, the ride of fate and fortune of the legendary marque has been a roller-coaster of daring visions, extraordinary characters, narrow escapes, near peril, breathtaking comebacks and glittering achievements.

It’s a story as passionate as the dedication that’s required to build a car as elegant as the Arnage or a coupe as stunning at the Continental GT. It’s a story as exhilarating as the performance of every vehicle graced with the winged B.

ABOUT AUDI
Audi is a manufacturer of exquisite cars – beautiful, sophisticated machines that embody technological perfection. Our success is built on our core values of creativity, commitment and enthusiasm, and keeping our customers’ desires at the heart of everything we do. We strive to lead the way through constant innovation, setting new standards that define Vorsprung durch Technik.

AUDI HISTORY
Audi’s history is one of the most many-faceted stories ever told in the history of the automobile in general. The Audi emblem with its four rings identifies one of Germany’s oldest-established automobile manufacturers. It symbolises the amalgamation in 1932 of four previously independent motor-vehicle manufacturers: Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer. These companies form the roots of what is today AUDI AG.

ABOUT ASTON MARTIN
Aston Martin is a name that needs little introduction. It has always stood for fine, civilized high performance sports cars, designed and produced by skilled craftsmen. There is a special place in the market and in the hearts of owners for classic sports cars which conform to this ideal. These are cars which bring to life the freedom and enjoyment of the open road.

Even so, every Aston Martin is very much a product of today’s technology. New resources and new investment in the latest computer aided design and engineering facilities, in statistical process control and many other leading edge disciplines are ensuring that for Aston Martin, the future is every bit as bright as its illustrious past .

THE COMPANY
Aston Martin Today - 'Over the past nine decades, Aston Martin has witnessed many changes. In a long and distinguished history, Aston Martin has seen some good times and some not so good times.

The fact that Aston Martin has survived is testament to the strength and resolve of everyone who has ever been involved with the company: customers and employees alike.

We are passionate about the cars we produce and we know this is a passion shared by our enthusiastic owners. All of our sports cars will continue to be hand-built and bespoke but using high technology processes in a very modern environment.

That ethos goes right back to 1914 and the very beginnings of the company. Our founders, Lionel Martin and Robert Bamford, believed that a sports car should have a distinctive and individual character. They felt it should be built to the highest standards and be exhilarating to drive and own – many things have changed over the ensuing ninety plus years, but those goals are still very relevant to us today.

An Aston Martin combines three important elements: power, beauty and soul. Aston Martins are truly special – they always have been and always will be.'
Dr Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive Officer, Aston Martin

2007 Ascari A10

Ascari, the same company that is creating the fastest car in the UK, have revealed details of their newest project. Called the A10, this is a 600 bhp, road-going version of Ascari's Spanish GT Race Car.

So far, a single yellow example has been completed and is being extensively tested before the regular production version is revealed in 2006. Engineers at Banbury, and the exclusive Race Resort Ascari racetrack, are committed to ensuring this 220mph supercar delivers world-class performance similar to other independents such as Pagani, Koenigsegg and Mosler.

Like its KZ1 predecessor, the 1280kg A10 will be rare, with just 50 to be hand-built at Banbury. With an exclusive with a price tag of around >>350,000, Ascari's announcement is particularly bold.

Power will come from a modified BMW M5 engine with a six speed manual as standard or a sequential gearbox available as an option. With its wide carbon fibre body and matching fixed rear wing, the A10 more dramatic compared to the KZ1 it's based off.

Chris Burton from Ascari says: ''We are extremely excited by the prospect of launching the A10. This car's roots are in the racetrack making it a truly inspiring driving machine, yet refined enough by design to be driven every day as a supercar.''

Ascari is now ready to pre-register for the 50 A10s.
